SAFEGUARDING AGAINST MONEY LAUNDERING & FRAUD
Money laundering and fraud are illegal and harmful to our community. In2me has established multiple controls to prevent, detect, and address any potential fraud or money laundering activity on our platform.
What is money laundering?
Money laundering refers to the illegal process of disguising the origins of money obtained through criminal activity. This is typically done by passing it through legitimate financial systems or services, such as banking or purchases, to make the funds appear to be from a legal source. The “dirty” money is thus “laundered” to appear “clean.”
In2me does not tolerate money laundering. We have implemented a wide range of tools, policies, and procedures to detect and prevent any attempts to misuse our platform for this purpose.
What is fraud?
Fraud is the illegal act of obtaining money or something of value by tricking, deceiving, or misleading another person or party.
Fraud is strictly prohibited on In2me. We utilize various tools and processes to detect and stop fraudulent activity from occurring on the platform.
How does In2me address the risks of money laundering and fraud?
In2me has a dedicated team that specializes in identifying and preventing money laundering and fraud. This team uses a combination of human expertise, proprietary technology, and third-party tools to detect suspicious activity and investigate it thoroughly.
Our employees are trained to recognize red flags, including:
Multiple card payment attempts under different names
Rapid or unusually large purchases
Transactions from flagged or high-risk IP addresses
Transactions where both Fan and Creator use the same IP address
Suspicious account behavior, such as newly created accounts or those using unreliable email domains
Suggestive direct messages (e.g., requests for partial refunds through third-party payment services)
How common is money laundering or fraud on In2me?
Very rare. Due to In2me’s robust identity verification procedures, transactional limits, and fraud detection tools, incidents of money laundering or fraud on the platform are extremely uncommon.
When a user is found to have violated our policies or engaged in illegal activity, we can quickly identify them, remove them from the platform, and, where appropriate, report them to law enforcement.
Is the In2me team trained to recognize money laundering and fraud?
Yes. In2me’s fraud and compliance team is routinely trained on the latest industry best practices to identify and prevent suspicious or illegal behavior.
What happens when In2me suspects money laundering or fraud?
If suspicious behavior is detected or reported, In2me initiates an internal investigation. We may suspend accounts, freeze transactions, or remove specific content while the investigation is ongoing. We also work closely with law enforcement when required.
How does In2me comply with international sanctions?
In2me complies with all relevant national and international sanctions regimes. We partner with third-party services to screen users and transactions against official databases, including:
The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) – Specifically Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List
The UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI)
We meet all legal obligations if a user or related transaction involves a sanctioned individual, entity, country, or region.
Does In2me cooperate with law enforcement?
Yes. We report suspected fraud or money laundering to law enforcement and promptly respond to official government and law enforcement inquiries related to potentially illicit activity on our platform.
